Forbes migrates to Linux

A division of Forbes that runs a US lottery will be migrating from Microsoft Windows 2003 to Red Hat Linux Enterprise Advanced Server. Of note, the move comes due to performance reasons and not cost. Win2K3 has a going reputation of stability and communication problems, and this is yet another example. It seems that the perceptions of Linux not being ready for the enterprise are waning, and Microsoft’s mediocre products are not advancing or improving near the rate of Linux and many other OSS projects.
