Today Team 1, a.k.a TeamWon, composed of myself, Zhen “Michael” Cai, Samer Fahmy, Juan Fang, and Jamie Mitchell, was awarded first prize in the IBM Software Development Challenge. The prize selection is based on the final demonstration of the Software Engineering Senior Thesis Project judged by representatives from IBM.
Congratulations to Team 7 on taking second place, and to all the other teams. There were several groups that I thought could have won. I would also like to thank all the teams that we worked in the lab with. Dispite the competition the level of cooperation was great, as open source as you can get while trying to top everyone else.
See the pictures here.

The TestBot and Team 1 was covered today on the daily news. Way to go team!
I found something interesting at the end.
The photo caption reads “… IBM representatives Nadine Nicols (sic) and Mark Pavlidis”.
Is this a little premature, or is there something you are not telling me IBM ;)
I forgot the link “McMaster Daily: IBM challenges software engineering students”

(i should get around to adding html in comments:)
Congrats. So what are you going to blow your $250 on? A new tech toy? Maybe an Apple? :)
Thx. Hmm, the $250 doesn’t go as far as the old $1000 prized did. I’m getting a G5 Powerbook when it finally comes out, but that will be later this year and $250 won’t even cover the tax.
I guess I could consider the $$ going towards my iRiver iHP-120, or for all the food I ate at Subway, Timmy’s and the hospital. All those long days away from home I probably spent more that $250!
