Career hunting

So I found a great way to procrastinate studying for exams (besides blogging, this is my 3rd today!), job hunting. Which, in the big picture is a lot more important than a few final exams. I have a few opportunities but nothing firm yet, unlike many of my classmates that are going back to their internship or summer job companies. That wasn’t in the cards for me due to a small $491 million net loss.

For those with offers of employment, or still on the hunt, I found some useful info at Monster.ca for when you are negotiating your starting salary. A search on salaries for Engineers in Computer/Software in Toronto with 0-3 years experience had a median base salary of $59,271, and the range of the 25th to 75th percentile was $53,612 to $63,238. Read on and do some of your own searches here.
