Put Green in the debate

I have just read and signed the online petition:
“Election Debate”
hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:
I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
signing yourself.
All the major political parties talk about the democratic deficit, but have done nothing to bring the newest major part into the fold. Please do your part. It does not matter which party you support, we must support equal opportunity for all of them.

WTF! There is an online petition service. So much for a good ol’ fashioned petition.
How can you verify online petitions. I mean I could write a bot to hit them with different spoofed IP addresses and different names. The whole thing sounds really sketchy.
I always thought these things are so that people feel like they are making a difference when in fact they are not.
Online allows you to reach many more participants and inform many more about your cause.
The verification is sketchy, they take your name and email. Send you a “confirmation email”, not one you have to reply to, to confrim you are a real person, but to inform you that you are signed up. They state that they keep the email address in case of proof is required.
It’s an attitude like that that causes the status quo to perpetuate. You’d be amazed at how much media coverage the Greens are getting. Well only one the real news channels, (read, CBC and CTV).
What attitude would that be. The realistic one about how the world works. You’ve been in school too long Mark, but maybe I’m just pessimistic about things.
