Opa! Final 4 for Greece

Each of Greece’s games in the Euro Cup has gone to the underdog (win over Portugal, tie with favourite Spain, then a loss to the Russians who were already out of contention), so why would today’s quarter-final game against the top seeded team in the tournament, France, be any different. A great header from Angelo Charisteas in the 65th minute put the game away, but not after several scoring chances (one had 3/4 of the ball over the line). France pressed late, but its marquee players could not step up and even the game up late, as Portugal did yesterday. As I prediced, they could go all the way!
Next is a semi-final match on Thursday against Denmark or Czech Republic.
