It’s official: I’m a fat guy

There is an advertisement for a health club that start with the phrase “You don’t wanna be a fat guy?”
Well, I am now that guy. How do I come to this conclusion? I have gained close to 30 pounds in the last year, most packed on during the last term of my undergraduate degree because of my irregular eatting pattern. But from the outside, fully clothed others cannot see the impact of this stored energy. My height allows the additional mass to be dispersed over a large surface area, but the accumulation in region of my stomach has reached a critical mass.
As you can see from the Bruce pictures, I haven’t been out in the sun much this summer (read: i’m pasty white). So with the great weather at Bruce, I went topless in hopes of getting some colour. Some colour I did get. That colour was red. The nice breeze hid how hot the sun was that day. The problem was not that I burned a little, the problem was the large white strip on my stomach that did not get any sun, because it got folded under when I was sitting in the chair. So… now I’m a fat guy.
My biggest problem is the 5 years of inactivity due to the rigours of a B.Eng.Mgt in Software Engineering. Unfortunately, I’ve only managed to motivate myself to get out and run/rollerblade/bike at most once a week. Things have got to change, I only have 9 weeks to lose the gut before the wedding. Any help setting up a good activity schedule would be much appreciated.

Move at least 1 hour a day… not only will it be good for your body but it will work wonders for your brain!
No offense or anything, but I’m sorry… I just couldn’t stop laughing at your description of the your white, unburnt strip of stomach!
No offence taken… I thought it was so funny that I had to share it with yous. Now I just have to lose it.
Eat smaller portions of food! and use a small plate for the food instead of the normal big one you normall use.
In short, just eat enough to stop the hunger. Don’t eat that one last bite just so you finish theplate.
You can also go to the gym, but you won’t have time, as the date gets closer.
Have fun at the wedding;)
