A long goodbye

Today I say goodbye to the Champ. A fighter everyday, even his last. For most, one strike is enough. For others, it is three. But for this man, it took four to beat him. Never a day would you hear him complain. He made sure everything was in order, and persistently made sure of it. It has been a trying couple of years, with mixed emotions. The last five months have been the toughest. The long journey that slowly took him from us, piece by piece, is over. He did not go with out a fight, and went on his own terms.
Your inner strength and resolve is an inspiration to me. I would be proud to be half the man you are. Always, and forever in my heart and mind. Goodbye D, Love you.

My condolences my friend. Your grandfather sounded like an amazing man. It is obvious you have learnt a lot of great things from him.
