jetBlue arrives safely - Live

Unlike the Air France flight 358 that went off the runway at Toronto’s Pearson Airport on, the world watched, as did I moments ago, on live TV the emergency landing of jetBlue flight 292. Enroute from Burbank to NY, a problem with the nose gear was detected shortly after liftoff. The plane used up fuel by circling LA for hours, then made an emergency landing at LAX. What was amazing is that most of america was watching…
As the planes rear wheels touched down, I think 200 million people collectively held their breath as the nose gear came down…. sparks… flames… one tire flies off.. more flames…. the Airbus A320 comes to rest on its stump of a nose gear… all is well…. exhale. Great job Captain, smoother landing than most I’ve had.
