CANOE — CNEWS - Canada: Government cuts program to help low-income households cut energy use

I feel for all those people that just spent thousands upgrading the efficiency of their homes on the expectation that some of it would be refunded from the Government of Canada. Since there is a new gov, there are new expectations… or lack there of. I

If it is not one of the “5 Priorities” of Canada’s new government, it appears to have no attention or funding. I wish I only had 5 things to do in my life, 3 of which are one time tasks… I still have a dozen or so priorities that have been on the list for over a year. But back on topic, as the government shovels cash off to Quebec to buy votes to win a majority they don’t want to miff “the base” out West. Harper being the a keen strategist, just cut all the energy saving programs (e.g., EnerGuide, One-Tonne Challenge) to keep demand through the roof and energy prices high so every company with an Alberta postal code has its revenue grow. The huge corporate tax cut help too.

So far, the “Made-in-Canada” climate change policy seems not to have been made in Canada, but instead copied by Canada. From whom I wonder?
