cbc.ca - Ontario hits record high for power use

Today’s record breaking heat brought with it record breaking power use, peaking at 26,854 megawatts. Tomorrow is expected to break 27,000 MW, so do what you can to conserve during the peak hours, 12-2000h. This includes keeping lights off and not doing your laundry, but you might also want to unplug all the phantom power holes; monitor, computer, tv, vcr/dvd player, stove, microwave, coffee maker, etc. And most importantly, turn up your A/C temp. If it is 35*C outside, coming in to 27*C is still refreshing and uses much less power than it does to keep your home at 22*C. Then you can walk around naked…
