CBC.ca - Lakehead University, you’ve got Gmail

Seriously, Microsoft’s world dominance is like owning a small island in the South Pacific compared to Google. They own your searches, they own your ad views, they own your email, they own your IM’s, they own your personal info, they own secret data warehouses, they own your net access (SF wifi or when they light up all that dark fiber they’ve been buying). No matter how much it drinks the “Do no evil” [coloured sugar water], when information is power that is some kind of power. Communism wasn’t supposed to be evil either, but the concentration of power in the wrong hands [ahem, US gov’t and its Patriot Act] … if you don’t know, read a history book, shame.
