An other long goodbye

It’s been exactly two years less a month, the second half of a beautiful pair has passed. She knew it was coming long before any of us, before the doctors confirmed it. She may have played coy at times, but she always knew exactly what was going on - even better than most ever knew. I hold dear the fun-loving and playful attitude toward life, and try to live it to the fullest each day as she did. I’ll never forget the heart-warming laugh and smile when I’d wink at her, or every time she’d ask “moossy moossy?” and reach out to touch my hair. I’ll think of you every time I warm my bum at a fireplace, as I did when I was five, and remember how happy it made you even when it would do it 20 years later. Love you Baba, ok bye na baba. ;-)
A special thank goes out to all the loving and caring staff of the G5 Palliative Care at Toronto East General Hospital. You were great the past 11 weeks and made the difficult process much easier for the family.
