Hi.
I recently purchased a 2006 jetta tdi desiel, and although the fuel economy is good,. i have not gotten near the 1000km/tank as advertised.
i have about 10000km onn it now, so the engine should be broken in by now.
What is your average speed when you are getting 1000km/tank, and also, does using bio-desiel make a difference to your rate of fuel consumption?
thanks
Daniel, after 10000km your tdi engine is not broken in. It takes about 60-80000km to hit get fully worked in. You will continue to see your mileage get better with every tank.
I have had better consumption rates with Biodiesel over petrodiesel, from my summary page, 15.7, 16.7, 17.7km/L for PD, B20, B50 respectively. I try to keep my cuising speeds between 100-110km/h, over that I have seen a marked increase in consumption.
